The article " Do We Have the Courage to Stop This?", by Nicholas D. Kristof is about people thinking the real reason why that people die so much is because of guns and that they should make regulations about owning a gun. As said in the article there has been around 300 Americans dying a year from ladders, and guns 30,000. According to David Hemenway, children ages 5 to 14 in America is 13 times more likely to be murdered with guns as children in other industrialized countries.
This article is informal because this is something that I feel deeply about. I fear for my younger sisters that the could get shot because crazy people getting out of hand with a gun. If the government don't do something about this problem, us people in our community will. I don't want to wake up anymore knowing that my sisters and me might not be safe.
This reminds me of the time that I didn't clean my room. My mom told me to clean it before it got worst, but me being an disrespectful child, I didn't want to listen and by the end of the week I got in trouble because my roon was terrible and I knew I should have cleaned it at the beginning of the week when it was.t the dirty, but that was my fault and that's what the government should to before the problem get's worse.
This is sad and it helped me understand how important my life is and now I know that I should look out for me and my sisters before a problem like this get's out of hand.

Low water levels on Mississippi threatens shipping
The article "Low water levels on Mississippi threatens shipping", by Jim Salter and Jim Suhr, is about the Mississippi river getting to shallow and the boats won't be able to pass through just as the harvest heads to the market. Rick Calhoun, head of the marine operations says that we shuoldn't just wait or it'll get worst. "You can't just wait until it shuts down and suddenly say, there's a problem. Experts say that if the river is closed for a long time economic loses could go up to billions of dollars. Don Sweeney, an associate director says, " the longer it lasts, the worst it gets." He also says,"it's inevitable that it will mean higher prices down the road."
This article was great, I really enjoyed reading it, it was something that infromed me and got my attention right away. It got to the point in the first part and it ended it off with something good. I really liked it!
This reminds me of a time where my friends mother had a financial problem and she wasn't really doing anything about it and by the end of the month it got into something bad and she lost her house. This was something that should have got to in the first place and now I miss my friend. This is something the government should be trying to fix before they have the same problem.
I wonder if someone is trying harder to fix the problem because this is becoming a big one. I guess I should look farther into it.

The article "Nestle Blames Biofuels for High Food Prices", by James Melik, is about the world's largest food producer believes that high prices are due to growing of crops for biofuels. Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe believes that prices for cheap food is over. "The time of cheap food prices is over", says chairman. He also believes that biofuels are only affordable because of the high subsides. " It is absolutely unacceptable and cannot be justified, there is one demand that I have, and that is not to use food for fuel."
The article is not something that really caught my eye, I just thought that the article would be good to inform me. I kinda got what they was talking about and it kinda was informing because this ins't something that I normally think is an issue. But is was good to find it out.
This is a problem on it's own, I can't really get in to telling a part in my life that reminds me of this. All I can do is try to help solve the problem and hope that nothing goes wrong do to this situation.
Some questions that I would asks is: could there be something that people can do for this situation? or can someone try to fix it? I don't really know but if there's someone that can tell me please let me know.

The article "Marijuana law just creates criminals", by Hakeem Jeffries is about people getting arrested for having the possession of marijuana and it's creating more criminals. People were arrested because they were caught carrying a small amounts of marijuana. "More that 50,000 people in 2011 were arrested in New York City for possessing small amounts of marijuana." Poeple were arrested and charged because they had a possession of marijuana. "Thousands of people are then arrested and charged with with misdemeanor possession, punishable by up to three months in jail and a 500$ fine.
I believe that's outrages because things like this shouldn't happen and get out of control. So many people had to get arrested because of marijuana and I believe that the government should take out marijuana and only give it to people who need it because that's unbelievable.
I don't think that none of my life experiences could add up to this because this is dead wrong. Peoples families are being teared apart because of this situation, jobs are being lost and it's all because of this marijuana. What could people do to stop this? Is there something that I can do or our community?
This article was surprising and really informing. I really didn't know that these things were going on. I wonder how people feel about this? Is this something that's killing america? These are questions I would soon wanted to be answered.
